Under the EUIPO SME Fund scheme, your start-up or SME can benefit from financial support for intellectual property (IP) actions to enhance the value of your innovations at different stages of your project.
To be eligible for the SME Fund, your company must be a legal entity (SA, SAAS, SARL, etc.) with a business purpose, be registered in the European Union (EU) and meet the following criteria
The documents to be provided for the application include the VAT certificate or tax identification number (TIN), the bank account certificate of the SME and a declaration on honour (for external representatives).
To maximise your grants, the SME Fund is now coupled with the INPI’s PASS PI.
The services subsidised by the SME Fund only concern official fees, excluding any type of fee, both for patents and for trademarks and designs.
For example, for a new patent application in France, the drafting and filing fees will be subsidised by the PASS PI, while the filing and examination fees will be subsidised by the SME Fund.
The EMS Fund subsidises official taxes:
For example, you can accumulate a refund of 750 €/year on official fees (filing, examination, search, publication, grant) for your French patents and a refund of 1500 €/year for your trademarks, designs and models, i.e. a total of 2250 €/year.
These amounts can be allocated on request each year until 2024.
