François’ focus as a European Patent Attorney resides in the field of life sciences, in particular biochemistry, microbiology, immunology and related technologies. Before joining GEVERS, François studied bioengineering at the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain, Belgium). His doctoral thesis in the Louvain Institute of Biomolecular Science and Technology (LIBST) focused on metabolite transport mechanisms. Subsequently, François conducted research as postdoctoral scientist at Cornell University (New York, USA). François has profound scientific expertise in the fields of biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, and therapeutic and diagnostic applications.
Besides patent filing strategies and filing- and grant-proceedings, François acts in post-grant proceedings before the EPO (opposition and appeal proceedings) and in preparing validity and freedom-to-operate expert opinions.
