BREXIT: Domain Names

Note that as of January 1st, 2021 domain names are impacted by Brexit. We wish to highlight the following changes which may impact you, your company and/or your clients:

.eu: a British company and/or citizen can no longer be the owner of a .eu domain name. Only with an address within the European Union the continued use and/or registration of .eu domain name is possible.

GEVERS can offer you a local presence for new and existing registrations so that you can obtain or keep your .eu domain name.

.fr, .re, .yt, .tf, .pm, .wf: in order to register a domain name under one of these extensions, you must have a local presence within the European Union. As of January 1st, 2020, it will no longer be possible for anyone to register a domain name with a UK address in relation to these extensions.

Note that this is only the case for new registrations. Existing registrations can remain valid, as far as they are renewed on a regular basis.

GEVERS has an experienced domain names team who can not only help you with registrations, modifications and decreasing the administrative burden. We also have the experience to assist you if things should go south and in case you are confronted with a dispute related to domain names.
