Duration

The protection in most jurisdictions worldwide is 10 years from either the date of application or of registration. We keep track of the valid time-period for you. In most jurisdiction protection can be renewed each 10-year period and could technically be perpetual prolonged if desired.

Both Benelux and CTM registrations are protected for 10 years, as of the application date, and can be continually renewed. Proof of use, or a declaration thereof, is not needed for administrative purposes, but only if a CTM or Benelux mark is used in an adversarial procedure. On the other hand, a CTM or Benelux mark never becomes incontestable.

The GEVERS’ way: An efficient administrative service keeps track of the different time periods and warns you nine months before the expiry of your registration in order to give you time to consider whether or not to renew your registration and/or calculate how much it will cost.
