Mission:

GEVERS' mission is to add value to your innovation, by turning intellectual property into assets and profits. We operate as an integrated professional group, offering flexible services across the whole intellectual property asset life-cycle, from innovation to monetization.

History:

1898: GEVERS, a Belgian IP firm is founded by Jacques Gevers senior in Antwerp, Belgium. Very early on, GEVERS opens offices in Brussels, Liège and Ghent.

Late 1930’s: The first worldwide database of Trademark registrations is created by GEVERS.

1966: COMPU-MARK, the first company purely focused on worldwide Trademark search and watch services is established by Jacques Gevers senior in Antwerp, Belgium

1971: GEVERS files 25 000+ Benelux trademark applications, based on the newly-implemented Benelux trademark system.

1985: Jacques Gevers junior (grandson of the founder) develops the USPTO, US Patent Trademark Office Database.

1986: COMPU-MARK is sold by GEVERS to the THOMSON Group (now THOMSON REUTERS).

1996: GEVERS is the sole IP player in Europe who strongly believes in the benefits of the Community Trademark Regulation and invests in developing long-term relationships with US blue-chip companies and law firms; as a result, GEVERS becomes the worldwide leader in Community trademark filings.

2007: GEVERS concludes a partnership with BLOCH & Associés, patent & trademark attorney firm in Paris, thereby starting the development of an international operating platform.

2007: GEVERS is awarded the EUROPE TRADE MARK FILING Firm of the Year trophy by Managing IP, a prominent publication in the field of intellectual property.

2008: GEVERS adds two French firms to its network: BONNETAT and MARTINET & LAPOUX.

2008: GEVERS acquires the trademark prosecution activities of REMARKABLE and forms a strategic alliance with one of the leading brand creation and activation team in Europe.

2009: GEVERS opens new offices in Hasselt (Belgium) and Toulouse (France).

2010: GEVERS launches www.valipat.com, already a leading platform for ordering and monitoring the validation of granted European Patents throughout Europe.

2010: Cabinet GLN based in Neuchâtel joins the newly established GEVERS Switzerland SA, with headquarters in Geneva. In September of the same year, the Cabinet Bird Goën & Co, based in Leuven (Belgium) also partners with GEVERS.

2011: GEVERS operates with a team of 200+ IP professionals, from 10 different locations in France, Switzerland and the Benelux.
