Definition of Copyright

The essence of copyrights is to protect the creators. Thanks to copyrights they can control the different ways in which their creations are being used.

This means

• from the point of view of the creator: how can I prevent my creations from being copied?
• from the point of view of the user: can I use them (totally or partially) without the creator’s authorization?

It concerns a non-registered right, which means that there are no administrative procedure to become the owner of the right, as it comes into existence at the materialization of the work (which fulfils the conditions of protection).

The creators are protected by patrimonial rights and moral rights.
