Accentuated characters for .LU Domain Names
As of next February 1st, DNS.LU, Luxembourg registry, will accept some special characters.
A priority period from February 1st, 2010 until March 31, 2010 will be dedicated to owners of registered .LU domain names who will be able to register the identical names with special characters called Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). Acceptable special characters are those commonly used in Luxembourgish, German and French languages.
The domain names will be attributed conforming to the request’s order of reception at DNS-LU.
After this sunrise period beginning April 1st 2010 IDN registrations will be open for everybody and performed on a "first-come, first-served basis".

In addition, please note that as of February 1st 2010, domain name holders which are established outside Luxembourg are no longer obliged to have an administrative contact in Luxembourg for the registration of their domain name.
